The Lapierre Overvolt HT 5.5 takes a straightforward approach to electric mountain biking, pairing established hardtail design principles with modern e-bike technology. The aluminium Overvolt Bosch Supreme 5 frame forms the foundation, creating a responsive platform that handles everything from woodland singletrack to countryside touring routes. The hardtail configuration keeps overall weight manageable while preserving the direct connection between rider and trail that many prefer for technical climbs and precise handling.
Power comes from the Bosch Performance Line motor, delivering assistance up to 25kph through energy stored in the frame-integrated 500Wh battery. This motor provides natural-feeling support that complements rather than dominates the riding experience, making challenging gradients and longer distances more manageable. The integration maintains clean frame lines whilst ensuring the battery remains protected from the elements and securely mounted.
Up front, the SR Suntour XCM 32 DS fork provides 120mm of travel to absorb trail impacts and surface irregularities. This travel amount works well for the bike's intended territory – sufficient to take the sting out of rocks, roots, and rough patches whilst maintaining pedalling efficiency on smoother terrain and sustained climbs.
The drivetrain centres around Shimano's CUES 9-speed system, featuring the U3020 rear derailleur matched to an 11-36T cassette that covers the essential gear ratios. CUES components are engineered for consistent operation under the higher loads typical of electric mountain biking, where motor assistance can place additional demands on shifting mechanisms. A Samox crankset with 34T steel chainring handles power transfer duties.
Schürmann Yak25 rims – specifically developed for electric mountain bike applications – form the wheelset foundation, built with boost spacing hubs front and rear for enhanced rigidity. WTB Ranger Comp tyres in 2.3" width strike a useful compromise between rolling resistance and off-road traction across mixed surfaces. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear handle stopping duties with consistent performance across varying conditions.
The Overvolt HT 5.5 represents a sensible entry point into electric mountain biking, emphasising functional components and straightforward operation over cutting-edge specifications. Before despatch, bikes are built, configured and tested by one of our experienced technical team.
Free boxed delivery requires basic assembly of your bike when it arrives. Generally the front wheel will need to be reattached, the bars will need to be turned plus pedals fitted.

We aim to despatch an in-stock bike 3-5 days after an order is placed (not including weekends / bank & public holidays).
For bike located in a warehouse location we aim to dispatch within 10-12 days (not including weekends / bank & public holidays).
Please note the dispatch timescale shown in on our website / basket / order confirmation are estimated. If applicable Saturdays are included in the calculation however items are normally only dispatched Monday to Friday.
Bikes will be delivered by DX or TNT, please note for some Cube Stereo the front wheel will be packed in a separate box but both wheel and bike should be delivered at the same time.

Boxed Bike Delivery
FREE boxed bike delivery Our Standard Boxed Delivery for bikes is FREE to UK mainland locations (excluding Highlands where there is an additional surcharge payable).
We can also deliver a bike to BT Northern Ireland and IM Isle Of Man subject to surcharges plus Orkney and Shetland Islands, please refer to the map below for our current prices, for other non mainland locations please contact us for a quote.
Ready2Ride Delivery
Choose our Ready2Ride Service and one of our team will deliver your new bike, fully built, configured and tested, we will personally hand over your new bike, make adjustments if required and can also wait while you take a short test ride round the block. If your postcode qualifies for this service it will be available to select at checkout. Ready2Ride Delivery For Cargo Bikes
From mid July 2024 we are now able to deliver a cargo bike in a box for FREE (to our regular FREE delivery areas - not Highlands etc)
Previously as our cargo bikes are larger than standard electric bikes they were only available for home delivery via our Ready2Ride delivery option (or click and collect), you can still select this option however if you prefer. One of our team will deliver your new bike, fully built, configured and tested, we will personally hand over your new bike, make adjustments if required and can also wait while you take a short test ride round the block.
This premium delivery is available to locations within a 50-75 miles radius of one of our stores. If your postcode qualifies for this service it will be available to select at checkout. If your delivery address is outside our delivery area please contact our Customer Services team on 0117 452 6571
Parts & Accessories
Place an order for £50 or more and delivery is free to mainland UK (including Highlands), for an order under £50 delivery is charged at £8.99.
For Highlands, Northern Ireland, Isle Or Man and other non mainland locations additional charges will apply.

We offer 10 days free insurance with all new bikes purchased from The Electric Bike Shop, provided by our insurance partner VeloLife. You will be covered for the first 10 days of ownership against theft, accidental damage and malicious damage, so you can purchase with confidence.
If ordering online, you can select to include insurance during checkout will be given a link upon completing your order to activate your 10 days free insurance. If you are purchasing in-store or through our sales team then speak to them directly about activating your free insurance on your behalf.
