The NBD has an adjustable cockpit that only takes seconds to resize, all without tools. Riders 147 – 190 cm tall (4’10” – 6’3”) comfortably fit the NBD, so it comes ready for the whole family to share. The NBD puts inclusive design at the forefront. Average-sized, able-bodied folks along with people of many different sizes and abilities can share the fun of riding thanks to the NBD’s accommodating geometry and unique frame design.
With wide, ergonomic grips on swept handlebars, an upright ridng position, and a multi-adjustable stem, the NBD is Tern's most comfortable bike. Add wide balloon tires and a suspension seatpost to the mix, and most road vibration becomes a thing of the past.
The NBD’s FlatFold feature makes it easy to fit the bike into trains, buses, RVs, and even small-sized cars. Just lower the seatpost, fold down the Physis Handlepost, and the NBD transforms into a low and flat package. No bike racks necessary.
The NBD parks and rolls vertically, so it’s easy to store safely indoors. Roll it vertically into elevators or conveniently park it just about anywhere in your home or office.
Ergonomic Cockpit
Swept handlebars and Ergon grips make the NBD just about the most comfortable cockpit you'll find on a bike. The slack seat tube enables all riders—even the smaller in stature—to place their feet on the ground at stops.
RideEasy Suspension Seatpost
The custom short-stack suspension seatpost adjusts to fit riders of different heights, and allows even smaller sized riders to travel without feeling road vibrations.
Air-Cushion Balloon Tires

Max gross vehicle weight (MGVW) is a key concept to understand a bike's load limit. The MGVW includes the weight of the bike and the rider, plus any accessories, cargo, and/or passengers.
* Bike = weight of the bike plus batteries; ** Rider(s) = weight of the cyclist and any passengers
In addition to MGVW, your bike's load limit also depends on its rear rack capacity. So Tern have designed and tested their e-bikes to the following load limits:

Parts & Accessories
Place an order for £50 or more and delivery is free to mainland UK (including Highlands), for an order under £50 delivery is charged at £8.99.
For Highlands, Northern Ireland, Isle Or Man and other non mainland locations additional charges will apply. For parts and accessories we aim to despatch the next working day after the order is placed.
For hygiene and safety reasons, helmets cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are faulty. Please ensure you choose the correct size and style before purchasing.
Delivery With Multiple Items On Order

Lead Times Electric Bikes
Before despatch, bikes are built, configured and tested by one of our experienced technical team.
We aim to despatch an in-stock bike 1-4 days after an order is placed (not including weekends / bank & public holidays). For bike located in a warehouse location we aim to dispatch within 8-10 days (not including weekends / bank & public holidays).
Please note the dispatch timescale shown in on our website / basket / order confirmation are estimated. If applicable Saturdays are included in the calculation however items are normally only dispatched Monday to Friday.
Bikes will be delivered by DX or TNT, please for some models the front wheel will be packed in a separate box but both wheel and bike should be delivered at the same time.
On all boxed deliveries the product name on the box may not match the model inside (our team sometimes have to use a different box than the one that initially came from the manufacturer) so please open the box to check!

Boxed Bike Delivery
Boxed delivery requires basic assembly of your bike when it arrives. Generally the front wheel will need to be reattached, the bars will need to be turned plus pedals fitted.

For bikes under £999 we charge £49.99 for boxed delivery to to UK mainland locations (excluding Highlands where there is an additional surcharge payable).
We can also deliver a bike to BT Northern Ireland and IM Isle Of Man subject to surcharges plus Orkney and Shetland Islands, please refer to the map below for our current prices, for other non mainland locations please contact us for a quote.
Ready2Ride Delivery
Choose our Ready2Ride Service and one of our team will deliver your new bike, fully built, configured and tested, we will personally hand over your new bike, make adjustments if required and can also wait while you take a short test ride round the block. Ready2Ride Delivery For Cargo Bikes
From mid July 2024 we are now able to deliver a cargo bike in a box for FREE (to our regular FREE delivery areas - not Highlands etc)
Previously as our cargo bikes are larger than standard electric bikes they were only available for home delivery via our Ready2Ride delivery option (or click and collect), you can still select this option however if you prefer. One of our team will deliver your new bike, fully built, configured and tested, we will personally hand over your new bike, make adjustments if required and can also wait while you take a short test ride round the block.

Full Warranty On Your New Tern Bike
Tern bicycles are sold on behalf of our company (“Tern”) by selected Authorized Tern Dealers who understand the assembly and service needs of our products. Tern provides a warranty against defects in materials and workmanship to the original retail purchaser (“Owner”) of a Tern bicycle from the date of purchase according to the following terms:
5 Years on Frame, fork and handlebar post (can be extended to 10 years with Tern Care), 1 year on components
One Year: All Tern or BioLogic branded parts and components, except as noted below.
Other: Any other parts or components are covered by the stated warranty of the original manufacturer of that part or component.
24 month Bosch warranty on motor and battery.

Electric Bikes are regulated in line with existing Electric Power Assisted Cycles regulations. Tern does not endorse any upgrades that are added to electronic e-bikes, as this will invalidate a customer’s warranty.
We offer 30 days free insurance with all new bikes purchased from The Electric Bike Shop, provided by our insurance partner Laka. You will be covered for the first 30 days of ownership against theft, accidental damage and malicious damage, so you can purchase with confidence.
