The Electric Bike Shop Terms & Conditions

When you purchase a bicycle from the Electric Bike Shop we want you to have complete peace of mind.

Below is a summary of the terms and conditions applied when purchasing via the The Electric Bike Shop website.

Distance Selling

If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us within 14 days. The bicycle must be returned to the The Electric Bike Shop in its original condition and with all accessories. Our refund policy does not apply if a test ride was undertaken prior to purchase. Please note that on all purchases of our ex demo models, refunds and returns do not apply and are at the discretion of The Electric Bike Shop Management. Please contact them to discuss. This does not affect your
statutory rights. Customers are responsible for charges if returning a bike which is not damaged or faulty.

For Distance (online & Mail Order) Selling:
Under theConsumer Contracts Regulations 2014, a customer is allowed to return an item if they simply change their mind. A customer has the right to cancel at any time from the moment they place their online order, and up to 14 days from the day they receive the goods.The customer then has a further 14 days from the date they notify the retailer of their cancellation to return the goods. There are exemptions to online returns which include tailor made/personalised goods. Customers are responsible for charges if returning a bike which is not damaged or faulty.

For Faulty Goods:
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a customer has an earlyright toreject goodsthat are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described, and get a full refund. This right is limited to 30 days from the date the customer took ownership of the goods. If an item is faulty and needs to be returned, the customer does not need to pay postage costs for the return of the faulty item.If a customer is asked to return an item that arrived damaged, not as described or faulty, the retailer should refund the total cost of the return.


Security

All online credit and debit card transactions take place on Sage Pay secure servers.


Privacy Statement

The Electric Bike Shop does not sell, rent or give out personal details to any third party. We may use your telephone number, address or email address to contact you regarding your order. Any personal details gathered from orders or enquiries (collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) are kept safely.


Warranties and Disclaimers

All prices are £ Sterling and include VAT at the current rate (where applicable). The information, products and services contained on this website may be out of date or include omissions, inaccuracies or other errors. All items offered are subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse any order. Online prices may be different from in-store prices and our shops may not carry the same stock and offers as available online. Any views or opinions expressed regarding items are for guidance only and do not constitute any part of a contract. All sizes, where quoted, are approximate only. Colours may vary due to manufacturing runs and computer screen settings. The Electric Bike Shop reserves the right to make changes to this website at any time without notice. Prices and specifications may change without prior warning. Our enhanced Ready To Ride delivery normally takes 2 to 10 working days. Once checked and signed for, all goods are the responsibility of the purchaser. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. The Electric Bike Shop cannot be held responsible for delivery failures by third parties.


Ex Demo/Display Warranty and Repair

All ex demo Models or discounted products will be subject to a reduced warranty please confirm at time of purchase. For the avoidance of doubt it is the responsibility of the purchaser to return the product to The Electric Bike Shop for assessment and repair.


Cancellations and Refunds

If, for any reason, The Electric Bike Shop is unable to fulfil an order, we will contact you with an alternative suitable product or offer you the opportunity to cancel the order. Please note customers who wish to cancel an order may do so if the product has not been altered or changed at the customer's request. If a product has been changed for the customer a refund will be processed minus the cost of the alteration and the cost of removing the changes where possible. If the product has been altered and cannot be restored to its original condition no refund can be permitted.


Complaints

Any complaints should be sent to us via the details on our Contact Us page. We will endeavour to respond to any complaint within 24 hours.


Competitions

These terms and conditions apply to all competitions unless otherwise stated:
• The Electric Bike Shop employees, their families, affiliated companies, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the competition are excluded from taking part in The Electric Bike Shop competitions.
• Only one entry per person is allowed. Entries will only be accepted via the official entry format.
• Responsibility cannot be accepted for lost or undelivered entries.
• All entries become the property of The Electric Bike Shop.
• The Electric Bike Shop reserves the right to alter, amend, or close the competition if necessary.
• Entry to any competition signifies acceptance of the terms and conditions which include the competition instructions and rules.
• A list of winners will be posted on the The Electric Bike Shop website and/or social media.
• The Electric Bike Shop reserve the right to publish names of competition winners in relation to publicity.
• In the event of any dispute, the decision of The Electric Bike Shop will be final.
• Limited to the residents of the UK only unless otherwise stated.


Price Match Policy Terms

At The Electric Bike Shop we offer competitive prices for all our great products. However, if you find a product at a lower price, please contact The Electric Bike Shop and we will try to match it providing the criteria below are met:

  • The competitor must be selling the same product.
  • The product must be in stock with our competitor.
  • The delivery time frame must be the same.
  • Any competitor's delivery charges will be factored into our offer.
  • The offer must be on a UK & non auction website.
  • The offer must not be in conjunction with a competitor's promotion.

Speed Pedelecs

The customer is responsible for ensuring compliance with the appropriate law when riding a Speed Pedelec.

Any electric bicycle which has a motor size in excess of 250W, or can achieve a motor speed of more than 15.5mph (not including the 10% deviation bringing the maximum motor speed to no more than 17mph) will be categorised as a Speed Pedelec. The Electric Bike Shop bears no responsibility for the use of Speed Pedelecs. The customer is solely responsible for any damage or injury caused to themselves or any third party.
