How Far Can I Go?

Words by The Electric Bike Shop on 18/02/2020 10:19:52

As well as how much does an E-Bike weigh one of the most common questions we are asked is how far can I go?

This depends on a few factors including the rider, the conditions, and the bike itself. For a good electric bike, you can often expect a range of around 50 to 80 miles before the battery needs recharging – more than enough for a morning and evening commute!

Of course, this can be increased by turning down the level of assistance or by providing more of the power yourself.

Most of the electric bikes we supply are fitted with the Bosch system, which provides five different riding modes to choose from

Direct, powerful support up to maximum cadence for sportive riding

Immediate, powerful support for athletic riding off-road and in city traffic

Steady support for long tours

Effective support at maximum efficiency for maximum range

No support, all on-board computer functions are available

With the latest displays you are kept informed of your remaining battery level which updates when you change riding mode - so it's virtually impossible to run out without warning.

Worst case if the battery does run out, your electric bike will still function as a normal bike so you won’t ever be stranded but just will have to rely on your legs a little more.

We see it so many times that when people first experience an E-Bike their faces light up, it’s exciting and joyful, you don’t get the same reaction from a regular bike.
