Case Study Sustrans Cymru

In 2023 The Electric Bike Shop supplied 30 bikes for Sustrans Cymru for their project with The Vale of Glamorgan Council. The Travel with Care Project, tackles transport inequality by providing free loans of E-bikes for care staff to get to work and to travel during work.

The loans are enabling care workers who may struggle with access to affordable travel to complete their rounds. The loans are not only opening care work to more people, but also reducing the councils transport carbon emissions by switching car trips to e-bikes

The project has supported by our Cardiff store, who helped Sustrans with advice on the best models of bikes and accessory packages required for their needs. Bikes were built, professionally checked and delivered to a number of sites where a full handover package was provided to Sustrans officers.

Liz Rees, Sustrans Cymru, Project Director, provided the following recommendation:

"The Electric Bike Shop supplied us with a fleet of high-quality e-bikes for our project. The customer service, delivery and guidance provided was excellent. Having the local shop on hand to support throughout the project is also a real bonus and it provides a pathway for our services users to take the next step to purchasing their own e-bike."
